Northside 2024

Another year and another opportunity for us to travel down to what we regard as being one of the finest and more special festivals on the Danish festival circuit.

I don’t know if it’s a unique festival superpower that Northside has, if it was the magic of Århus orif it was the absolutely stunning experience of the artists that made this year’s Northside Festival so special – maybe it was a combination: Northside this year stood out as a real rock’n’roll attitudeexperience, not only from the artists but also from the amazing festival crew and not least theaudience who all defied the pouring rain and the mud to come out to Eskelunden to enjoy concerts, art performances and huge visual experiences.

The lineup this year went from absolute indie classics like Slowdive and Massive Attack (whereeven the living legend Elisabeth Fraser joined the band on stage) over Danish pop artists who performed in a rare ray of sunlight to the dirty guitar riffing Amyl and the Sniffers and Shame. Like every year, this festival once more showed how to put together a quite wide range of genres in one festival and yet succeeding in binding us all together in the experience.

Whether it was the two working class punks in Sleaford Mods performing on the biggest stage of the festival, but acting like they were right there in the mud with us, if it was Shame’s lead vocalist Charlie Steen who actually did become one of the crowd, or the forever glittery almost angel like St. Vincent, the rain and the mud almost seemed like the only possibility to create such beautiful, intense and present experiences.

We tried to capture this vibe with our cameras for you guys to become a part of our experience –enjoy the images and we hope to see you in Århus next year. Clang will be there for sure to once again follow and be a part of the unique Northside experience.
